Hope for the Future

Having suffered from Anxiety for the past 9 years I feel like sometimes it's easy to get lost in a sea of emotion and I often find it difficult to focus on the future. Part of how my brain works is to focus on whats happening or has happened and repeat it over and over so planning ahead is often difficult for me.

Wedding Diaries: Venue Viewing

Images from: Belle Bridal Magazine

So exciting times! Tom has finally agreed to look at getting our wedding booked! So naturally I have taken that and ran with it... I have just booked in a viewing for South Causey Inn near Beamish in county durham. I just adore the old world, earth mother feel of the venue. Intimate but beautiful and I just love the exposed beams.

Stay Calm. Be organised

I've recently just changed jobs and moved back into the land of fashion. My main worry when taking on a new job is always staying on top of organisation, especially when the role is new to me. Going from working with dogs to working online is a massive leap, even though I spent 3 years prior working in e-commerce.

My plan of action is to spend the first few weeks learning the ropes, analysing the product and what sells and the engagement of the online customer. It just so happens that I am in a partly commission based role so selling clothes = a better wage for me at the end of the month!

One of the first things I do in a new job is go and get myself all the stationary I need! I'm not gonna lie, I love an excuse to buy stationary and my other half is often baffled at why I need another notebook. I found Primark were an excellent source of cute notebooks and I managed to pick this marble and copper one up for just a couple of quid.

The pound shop is also a great place to pop into and I picked up a set of three metallic biro pens including this rose gold one for well...you guessed it...£1.

For me planing and analysing is key and I devote a large percentage of my time to this. If you have planned correctly then actually creating engaging content on a day to day basis should be a doddle no? Plan at least a week in advance!

Don't get me wrong, I fully expect there to be some days where I'm pulling my hair out but for now, if I can stay calm and be organised I think I can probably take anything this new job throws at me!

LIFE LATELY

Well...how is it the end of June already? I must admit I feel pretty bad that I've neglected my new blog again. However things have been moving at a fairly rapid pace! I'm pretty bad for documenting things for my blog at the moment as I have been trying to live in the moment more and not behind the lens.

//Career//

I've recently quit my job with DogTrust and gone back into the world of fashion with Leggs Boutique in Darlington as head of online sales. It's something I had been thinking about for a while for as much as I adore dogs, the job wasn't for me and was actually bringing me down.

Now I'm back working on social media and photography full time which I adore!

//Extra-Curricular//

So a few months ago I randomly decided to do a course in spray tan as a bit of a side thing, and I loved it! I've now ordered all my equipment and I'm enjoying tanning clients. I'm having a hard time convincing my other half to let me tan him. He seems quite content with his t-shirt tan!

Taking a Moment

Have you ever had that overwhelming feeling of well...overwhelmingness (is that even a word?)

I recently found myself needing to clear my head and detox my mind. Easier said than done in this mad, crazy, busy world. Here are just a few things that help me when I'm feeling particularly frazzled:

//Take a pamper hour//

As silly as it sounds just taking one hour to have a nice soothing bath and paint your nails can instantly lift your mood. My favourite product at the moment is Lush Mask of Magnamity. The peppermint instantly makes me feel more alert and it makes my skin feel amazing. Take this time to really treat yourself.

//Get back to nature//

Recently me and my friends have been planning a different hike every Sunday. It's lovely to just spend some time outside and make some fabulous memories. We usually walk for about 4 hours and I love just chilling out by a river or waterfall. Dip your feet, sunbathe, enjoy nature!

Photoshoot: Mermaid Queen

As summer looms the idea of getting out and about with my camera in tow is more and more appealing and so I arranged for an editorial style shoot with a local model and makeup artist. The concept was loosely based on a washed up mermaid, with a high end editorial feel.

Hi. How are you?

Welcome to my little corner of the internet...

My name is Lorin. I'm a photographer and lifestyle blogger from the not so sunny North East of England. If you like travel, foodie pics, and Disney I'm sure we will get along just fine!
